Decommissioning of a sodium - nuclear reactor. This tool was designed and built to cut into calibrated pieces the internal and external parts of the reactor, in order to stock the pieces in their special containers. The machine is hydraulically self centered through 8 jaws. The machining is done with three different types of cutting mills. Four machining axes electrically motorized are available for all the different cutting positions. The tool rotation is hydraulically driven. The cutting info as well as all the other positionong info is all being brought back to the control panel driven by an operator. The whole tool includes a precision bridge supporting the main decommissioning tool, positioning it into its required machining spot into the reactor, and a commanding panel off contaminated zone. For such diverse operations many different machining tool block will be tele-manipulated, one after the other on the main machining shaft.
